Best Fort Bonifacio nightlife and bars

Fort Bonifacio is a thriving commercial zone
Fort Bonifacio is that latest swanky entertainment zone to have developed a following in the Metro Manila area. Also known as Bonifacio Global City or The Global City, it is actually named after the main Philippine Army camp, Fort Andres Bonifacio, but has experienced unprecedented commercial growth over the last decade through the sale of military land.
And with Taguig City’s close proximity to the city centre and fashionable Makati neighbourhood, nightlife in Fort Bonifacio is thriving. The different cuisines on offer have been greatly expanded in the past few years, and now a fantastic range of international eateries are on offer. And although the district is fast developing a reputation as a trendy area for affluent urbanites, there is something here for everyone’s budget from quick snacks, streetside carts and the fast food outlets to fine dining restaurants and bistros. The choice is endless.
Visitors to Manila will see a surprisingly affluent side to the city with an evening out in the Fort. Start with cocktails and light appetizers at Red Kimono, the Japanese fusion restaurant that prides itself on delicious sushi with a modern twist served in a hip atmosphere. Alternatives include Middle Eastern restaurant Hossein or perhaps delve into a fiery Rajasthani curry at Prince of Jaipur – the latter coming complete with an atmospheric troupe of belly dancers.
But if only in town for a few days then delicious Filipino food should probably be in your sights, and that is no problem in Fort Bonifacio. The sinigang na bangus at Chicharon is a hearty portion for three people that is perfect for lining one’s stomach before a night on the town. Or, if it’s a clear night, why not try the international cuisine of Pier One, with the outdoor setting perfect for star-gazers and romantics who love good food and company. More on restaurants.

New Orleans is the funkiest place in town
Super swanky The Establishment is probably the classiest venue in town. Although a touch on the pretentious site (don’t wear ripped jeans and sandles here!) the food is amazingly good and you’ve the best chance to rub shoulders with Manila’s a-list celebrities. Remember your wallet and soak up the chic ambience amongst the city’s moneyed elite.
Funky New Orleans is right in the centre of the action and offers live piano music, favourite drinks and dishes from the Deep South with plenty of colour. You’ll find your feet tapping to the rhythm of blues while sipping on whiskey sours and devouring smoky Cajun chicken. Nearby Jill's Bar is another great option with cheap drinks, stand up comedy and live music; one of the post unpretentious places in town.
7th High is both a bar and dance club with a trendy atmosphere and bouncy tunes. There are comfortable areas for chilling as well as a dance floor to shake your stuff to the latest international chart hits. It’s regularly full of Manila’s bright young things so dress to impress.
Good times and aesthetics combine at Limbo Bar & Art Gallery, with stunning digital photographs and works by local and international artists covering the walls. Open until 02:00, Limbo offers different nightly themes including Thursday’s ‘Buzzed @ Limbo’ which features live DJs playing vocal tracks everybody can sign along with – a kind of mass karaoke. Unique and very popular. More on nightlife.
If you’ve forgotten your dancing shoes and just want to relax in pleasant surroundings, then Cav Wine Shop & Cafe is ideal. Personal service is performed with aplomb, plus there is a huge collection of vintages from all across the globe and awesome international food. Just let the knowledgeable sommeliers choose what would accompany your meal best, but definitely give him a price limit first!
For a Luxurious environment with fine delicacies, head on over to Suite. Sip on a heavenly cocktail and sit back while some of the best live acts in the Philippines perform. This is definitely not a club but more of a lounge bar, so head here when you want to relax, chat and impress rather than shake a tailfeather.
Mag:net Cafe is a fun Fort Bonifacio nightlife venue to drink and eat with friends with a varied entertainment programme including open mic nights, stand up comedy, poetry recitals and performing arts. There is WiFi throughout the comfortable lounge so you can catch up with a little work before ordering some drinks and relaxing with friends.
If you get hungry again then there are plenty of late night dining options in Fort Bonifacio, with delicious pizza at Trio or authentic tapas at Minggoys understandably popular. While Porceliain Restobar combines the best of both world with bottom dollar food and drinks which are still top notch quality. Whatever your tastes, there are dozens of Fort Bonifacio nightlife venues to ensure you have a fabulous night in the city.
